Womans Minstry
We are mothers, wives, sisters, aunts, cousins, friends, neighbors, coworkers and everything that comes with those positions. We are women and we, by nature, are nurtures. We constantly give; always giving so much of ourselves to our husbands, children, family, friends and whomever else. Because we are always trying to ensure that everyone else has the things that they need to be successful, the dreams and desires that we had, seemed to have slipped away, leaving us feeling unfulfilled, overlooked, and taken advantage of. We see others succeeding and wonder when it will be our time. We strive to be the proverbial “Proverbs 31” woman: the virtuous woman. We try to take care of and encourage our husbands and raise our children in the fear of the Lord. We try to be wise in business as we manage our households. We have compassion for the downtrodden and the sick, and we try to be a good friend. We do all of these things, only to be left with the feeling of emptiness, and being unsuccessful.
With silent tears shed in the night, we ask the questions, “Why?”, “How?”, and “What about me?” Shhhhhh…settle yourself and listen to His Word because as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him. If you feel left out, and unfulfilled, He says, “I chose you from the foundation of the world. Be still and know that I am God. Cast all of your care upon me because I care for you.” When you are not feeling loved, the Father says, “My daughter, I have loved you with an everlasting love. I know the thoughts that I think toward you. Thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” If you are suffering from a broken heart and cannot trust, His response is, “My child, I will cover thee with my feathers, and under my wings you will trust: my truth will be your shield and buckler. I will heal your broken heart and bind up your wounds.” After you have given so much of yourself and you are now wondering when will you have a chance? When is it your turn?” The Lord gently replies, “Baby, wait on me and keep my way and I will exalt thee to inherit the land. Don’t be weary in well doing; you WILL reap if you faint not!”
In the book, “The Help”, by Kathryn Stockett, a loving maid, who also served as the nanny for a little girl that was emotionally neglected by her mother, always took the time to tell the little girl that “she was smart, she was kind, and she was important.” After the maid was released from her duties, the little girl cried hysterically for the maid, but even through that, she still told herself, “I is smart, I is kind, I is important.” Whenever we have those gut wrenching conversations with the Lord, remember that He sees every tear and hears every moan. You are precious to him and there is no one else like you. You were fearfully and wonderfully made because He created you for His glory! So, when you are operating under the many hats that you wear, and you are feeling, as we say “some kind of way”, take a deep breath and say “I is smart, I is kind, and I is important!” because the Lord definitely thinks so!Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him.
In His Service,
Lady Lisa
